Use Keyboard Shortcuts on Safari for iOS 7

Use Keyboard Shortcuts on Safari for iOS 7

If you work off of your iPad with an external keyboard then you know that only a small handful of keyboard shortcuts actually work anywhere. However, over on Tao of Mac, they point out that Safari picked up a couple handy shortcuts for navigation.

Safari now supports a few standard keyboard shortcuts:

  • CMD+L to go to the URL bar (which also brings up in-page search).
  • CMD+T to open a new tab.
  • CMD+W to close a tab.

It's not life changing by any means, but if you write in your browser on the iPad or you just keep your keyboard connected, it's helpful to know.
