At the Worldwide Partner Conference, Microsoft has confirmed Windows 8 will be released sometime before the end of October. Additionally, Windows 8 is on track for a Release to Manufacturing (RTM) the first week of August. This means enterprise customers with Software Assurance benefits will get Windows 8 at some point in August. As announced last week, the upgrade will be $39.99 for users with XP and above.
